"Using X generates revenue for the X Corp." Mostly, this is true. When you use X, you can generate revenue for the corporation directly by subscribing (!), or by clicking or viewing ads (yes, X has PPV ads). You can also do it indirectly, by creating content or other engagement that attracts other users, who in turn click or view ads or subscribe. This is the whole business model of user-generated content; your content generates value for the company.
